Mission
RebelProject.org founded by Geerd-Dietger Hoffmann in 2012 has the main mission to combine the two worlds of high quality and the online world. We are an incubator that strives to deliver quality and style through our innovative products.
As an Incubator, we try to do research in new products that are research based and deliver real value to their users. We do not consider jet another webshop to be something new and exciting. Next to our focus on cutting edge research we also try to create a relaxed environment which is reflected in our products and the best working conditions for our employees.
Products
CigarCities
Initially the online cigar space was identified as a market that still hadn't developed to modern technology standards. Through applying methodologies lent from the open source word and the Wikipedia movement it was possible to create a new website that had the aim to provide all the information a cigar smoker would need. After being on the market for two years we have become the "Wikipedia of Cigars" and have more than 70 active collaborators from over 15 mainly European countries.
DBook
DBook is an online editor which enables the user to create highly structured documents. Through being able to define a rigid structure of repeating “items” it is possible to track changes, grant permissions and output error free documents. Every project defines a standard “model” which can consist out of text and relations. It is possible to define a multitude of output filters (pdf/doc) and/or show your document online allowing users to comment on your work.
DRec
Identifying the market for mobile recommendations led to the development of a software suit that enables its users to easily find relating and similar products by supplying a weighting for the different parameters. The main goal was to enable an easy integration into mobile applications and an extensible API so new features could be integrated in an efficient and scalable way. Through this a whole array of different products could be compared and relevant items retrieved. This is actively sold as a Software as a Service and used in various mobile solutions.
Consultancy
A fast growing branch of RebelProject is the area of software consultancy. With our wide range of experience in various areas we have started supporting a growing number of companies with different sizes. Mainly focusing on the requirements and project management stages of software projects has given us a unique opportunity to share our extensive knowledge of developing high quality products.
Helping a little
Next to our commitment to high quality innovative and disruptive products we also support two non profit organizations, “Verband der Migraten Wirtschaft e.v.”
and “Deutschlandstiftung Integration” which support business owners in Germany which originate from different countries and the latter has a mentor program for young students with mainly foreign backgrounds.
